I coach with many coaches across the country to help them build their practices. A common problem most of them have in their business is having only one source of referrals. Many of the Dave Ramsey coaches I talk with rely solely on Daves company to send them all of their referrals. This is also a problem that I see not only in services businesses, but also with businesses selling traditional products.

As a Certified Dave Ramsey Coach myself, my market is a very small one for Dave Ramsey. As a result I have had to build models and streams of referrals that do not depend entirely on one organization sending prospects to me. I even consider anything that Daves company sends directly to me as icing on the cake, where many others rely nearly 100% on this one source.

When working directly with any Dave Ramsey Coach, I would prefer they be in a small market for Dave Ramsey because they must quickly learn to rely on building their business on more than one referral stream. Any time you are reliant on one source for anything in a business, risk enters the picture. What if someone else comes into your market that was trained by Dave Ramsey? Immediately your referrals could be cut in half. What if Dave Ramseys company decides to no longer send prospects to you? Again, your business dries up. What if your one buyer decides to branch out and find a cheaper product?

The importance of having more than one stream of referrals has never been more important. Take a look at where the majority of clients and customers in your business come from. Can you expand to reach other areas? As you do I guarantee your income will soar.

 Finding first a hungry crowd to sell food to rather than making the food first is advice that many entrepreneurs do not get early enough. Indeed its nuances can even be evasive to a seasoned entrepreneur. This we can view as a technical error in an internet business start up. But it does have a antecedent. And this precursor is a state of mind. It’s the underlying reason you want to go into business, online or off.

This has even grown a whole multi-million dollar industry called Domain Parking. Yet even more new domains in just as much time are registered, showing new entries into internet business. So what gives? Why are people that go online to make lots of money make none of it?

If you have been online for any appreciable time, some one will most likely have told you were the money is. The likes of Mike Filsaime teach “the money is in the list”, Joel Comm the Adsense guru teaches making money with Adsense, while Scott Boulch of the famed “The Death of Adsense” report is emphatic that “the money is in the money”. All create systems around these persuasions with astonishing results - until you try it yourself. They will tend to be ill-fitting and this is not because they do not work.

All this systems teach you how to get your visitors money. They are strong on how to sell your visitors. This may create a mindset that is inconsistent to the altruistic nature of business. Yes, I put it to you that for a business to be longeval and sustainable it needs to be essentially altruistic. The good book note in Proverbs 11:24 “One man gives freely, yet gain even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty”; so much for primarily going into business to make lots of money.

Lately, I have been overly repetitive on the focus on the customer and creating value. Yet it is better to be redundant than to be remiss. Business is essentially not a game of wits. It’s not about how you can trick, arm twist or coerce money from your customer. It’s about creating something a customer wants and directing them to it. It is this mind set, this altitude that positions you to find a hungry crowd. You are not only going into the market place to take, but also to give. It is true that many people have no business being in business. Indeed, if you are yet to find something valuable to offer online, find one first.

 Okay so you did not go to college and it is hard to get a good job. A lot of people think that college is the answer to everything in the job and business world but they do not know that 60 out of the 100 richest people in the world just graduated high school. The thing that makes it so easy and you do not have to have tons of money is the internet.

When doing an online affiliate business you make your own hours and put in as much work as you want. Also the more efficient you are the more you get paid for your time. The average salary for someone who went to a 4 year school is in the range of $50,000 to $70,000 a year but they are working 40-70 hours usually. They also have limited time off and need permission for that time off.

If you figure it out for the hours they put in a week they are actually only making $17 an hour. With this you can make up to $200-$500 an hour depending on how good you are. I know people who work 2 hours a day and make $1000. They have the rest of the day to spend time with their families and friends. Also, you never have to call in sick because you are your own boss. You decide everything and that is probably one of the most rewarding aspects. If you want the day to spend with your family you do not have to worry about what your boss is going to say. You always have the option as to whether or not you want to work. It is important to remember though that in order to be successful you have to put in the time and effort.

I take success as how much time you get to spend with family and friends. The thing is these days people are always working and they say there fun years were when they were in school. I personally do not agree with that and think that from 22-70 should be the best years of your life.

Another thing is that people are working until they are 65-70 because they do not have enough money to retire. I think that the retirement age should be much less and hopefully this program will allow people to retire much sooner. We tend to live to work instead of work to live and that should not be the way of life.

If you choose to become an affiliate you should be able to retire sooner and enjoy your life by doing what you want instead of waking up to work each day.

 In some parts of our country, you can still find small family run farms because if you really think about it, these small farms are like a fire that has not been put out yet. Every year, we lose some of these farms because of the death of the main farmer and the kids not wanting to take over, or they just can’t compete with the bigger farms in the area and quit.

I think that if we had been able to keep some of these smaller farms around, we might not have had so many people out of work because they would have had their own jobs. They would have been the bosses, and they wouldn’t be worrying about how they would be feeding their families because of the economic crisis with so many people losing their jobs.

We should have really thought ahead with how our country is going right now and the state that it’s in and tried to keep these small farms and even these smaller businesses going instead of letting all of these big companies take over because now they are falling. Even with all of the small farms not needing to hire people, these people might not have been in the job market in the first place. We have let the big companies take over this world of ours without really knowing what would happen to us in the future and now we are finding out the hard way.

As I said before, our small farms are getting fewer but not gone. You will be able to find them if you really want to look. Some of them won’t plant fields of crops anymore or have large herd of cattle or pigs. Some will just have a lot of land to let people ride around on with their horses that the farmers will let you keep in their barns. These farms will let you keep your animal to stay in their barns, but of course you will have to either feed this animal yourself or pay this farmer the cost of this feed and of course the lodging of this horse.

Some of these farms will have been in this family for years and some of them are now being sold off in sections, which is a terrible thing to have happen because that means that a part of our history is dying and will never be able to live again.
